One of the most common mistakes a young person can make is choosing to abuse substances before their brain is fully developed, which doesn't occur until the age of 26. According to the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey 2019 data, we know that over half of our high schoolers have tried marijuana and alcohol before in their life. This is oftentimes due to peer pressure and a stigma of "being cool" and is NEVER worth the consequences at stake. Changing this stigma starts with all of us, right now. Mountain Youth's 2020-21 social norms campaign, "Be Your Best U." is focused on doing just that: improving the lives of youth in the most powerful ways possible, allowing them to thrive. #strongertogether
