High Five staffers had the distinct pleasure of meeting Eagle Valley High School junior Jordan Cox for the very first time at the Eagle County School District Career Fair, where local students have the opportunity to explore careers with companies & organizations across the Vail Valley and beyond. Even before meeting High Five, Jordan has always had a love for sports broadcasting. He calls games for Vail Valley Mountaineers Youth Hockey Club and youth BMX.

His journey took an exciting turn as he joined us for the 2024 Youth Film Camp, where he transformed his broadcasting prowess into captivating acting skills for his group’s enchanting short film, “The Tourist Trap.”

Under the guidance of experienced volunteer Tony Mauro, Jordan began to refine his already impressive broadcasting skills. As he began calling games for High Five's Game of the Week, his talent began to blossom. With aspirations set firmly on a career in the dynamic world of sports broadcasting, this young man possesses a mind-boggling depth of knowledge about a wide array of sports—both mainstream and niche. His passion shines through, especially as a devoted fan of the Colorado Avalanche.

We are excited to learn about Jordan’s future plans and look forward to helping this young man on his way.
